I’m new to Kingdom Death: Monster. What is the minimum I need to play?
To play KDM you will need one core game (offered in the LANTERN pledge level). This is a standalone item that should keep you and your friends busy for many days to come. The core game includes a 30 lantern year ongoing campaign with each lantern year usually lasting between 1-3 hours of gameplay.

What is a stretch goal?
As this campaign pummels through milestones of funding we will reveal all kinds of things that these levels of funding allow us to accomplish.
This includes the following: Upgrades to items you already pledged for (at no additional cost, you need not do anything to get these). E.G., new game cards for the 1.5 game and update pack,, a brand new final boss for the game, and many others.
Add-ons that we can now produce and offer to backers. If you want an add-on you’ll need to update your pledge to include the value of this add on. E.G., Expansions to the game (huge game changing new foes), promo figures, promo cards, Kingdom Death pinups.

Why will it take so long to receive my rewards?
All rewards will NOT ship simultaneously. 1.5 Core Game and 1.5 Update packs are shipping 2017. These items are in production already and will need time to get printed, cast, packed, shipped, distributed to our logistics partners.
Further waves of rewards will ship as they are ready (see above SHIPPING DETAILS SECTION). The 2020 estimated shipping date refers to the completion of ALL the content that will be funded by this campaign.
We now have some idea of how long it takes to develop, test, and produce different kinds of content for KDM from promos and one-off additions to massive game-changing expansions. The more KDM content this campaign generates the more time we will need to bring you the best possible version of these things without compromise!!

No, the Gambler’s Chest is a separate reward that will be filled with new KDM content as the campaign unfolds. You will need a copy of the core game to fully enjoy the contents of the Gambler’s Chest.

How can I add stuff to my pledge?
To receive an add-on simply add the value of that add-on (listed on its announcement) to your pledge amount. After the campaign closes backers will use backerkit to specify which addons you pledged for. For example, to pledge for the First Hero Expansion, add $35 to your existing pledge. Then specify this expansion when you receive the backerkit survey that will be sent out to backers after the campaign wraps.

What is a Kingdom Death Pinup?
Kingdom Death Pinups are light-hearted reinterpretations of aspects of the deadly serious game. They are not cannon, meaning they do not belong to the world of Kingdom Death and are not playable characters in the game.
These are meant for hobbyists and collectors to enjoy, assemble, and paint. They’re created in fun and meant in the spirit of light-hearted send up of everything from monsters to armor sets from the grimdark Kingdom Death world

How does the Gambler's Chest reward work?
Any pledge that includes a Gambler’s Chest will receive a box that is crammed full of amazing content. Most of it is still a secret but will be revealed over the course of the campaign using a random roll on a d100 table. As each piece is revealed, Adam will update the Gambler’s Chest infographic to show what it contains.

What is your policy on import fees, duties, tax's, VAT, etc?
Like our previous campaign, we will make our best efforts to ease the burden of shipping by fulfilling rewards from shipping partners around the world (projected as: US, CA, EU, AU.)
Backers are responsible for any and all import fees, VAT, duties, taxes, post office fees, and or any other fees their country or government imposes.

Will this game be translated to other languages?
I am sorry we currently have no plans for it. The game is extremely text heavy and a translation would require a major redesign of every single asset. It is not a simple task, nor is it one where I’ve found a place I trust enough to make it a clear and playable game and manage to include all the subtile world building we sprinkle throughout the experience.

When is what shipping and for how much?!?!?
The 1.5 Core game and the 1.5 Update Pack are estimated to ship in 2017, this will be the first wave of shipping. Any additional rewards in your pledge (i.e., Gambler’s Chest, add-ons, expansions) will ship in later waves. We’ve outlined a proposed timeline above in the “Shipping Details & Shipping Waves” section of the project description.
Each wave of shipping will be a substantial amount of stuff and will have its own shipping costs as outlined above. Shipping will be collected through backerkit when the wave is complete and ready to ship. The costs above are conservative and based on our vendors’ current rates. The more we ship the cheaper shipping gets. Although we’ve taken a bath on the fulfillment before we are not looking to make money on shipping either. Shipping rates will be at cost to our backers, we’re just not sure how heavy or large these shipping waves will end up being.

It includes the Gold Smoke Knight new final boss miniature and all of its AI, Hit Location, associated gear. The 1.5 Update Pack will update an original core game to have THE SAME content as our newest edition.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
